Homemaker Was Woodland Union Church Member

Guyotha Bright Plecker, age 92, of 25041 Mountain Valley Road Millboro, Virginia, died Sunday July 22, 2012 at her residence.

She was born on December 19, 1919 in Millboro, one of 17 children, to the late Arch Leroy Bright and Leola Loan Bright.

She was a homemaker throughout her life and a member of Woodland Union Church in Millboro.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by six brothers: Marion, Nelson, Eli, Jack, Warren, and Roland Bright, and four sisters; Margaret Gillock, Pauline Brown, Archie Gravis, and Constance Thacker.

She is survived by a daughter; Penny Carpenter and Benny Matheny, of Millboro, a son, Timmy Plecker and fiancee, Fern Pritt, of Millboro; her former husband and father of her children, Peery Lee Plecker of Staunton; four grandchildren: Chad Carpenter, Kelly Whiddon and husband, Chris; Cody Plecker, Cheyenne Plecker; two great-grandchildren, Ava Whiddon and Gunnar Whiddon; extended family: Myranda Matheny, Josh McDaniel, Stacey Utz and husband, Gary; four sisters: Doris Belagyi, of Townsend, Maryland, Leona Evans, of Williamsburg, Janet Armstrong, and Ruth Bright, both of Newport News; a number of nieces and nephews; special friends, Kay Hicklin and Jackie Plecker, and special caregiver, Rhonda Kennedy.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Woodland Union Church in Millboro, with the Reverend David George officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Timmy Plecker, Cody Plecker, Chad Carpenter, Chris Whiddon, Benny Matheny, Dean Hicklin, and Marty Plecker.

The family received friends Monday evening from 6:00 until 8:30 p.m. at her residence 25041 Mountain Valley Road, Millboro.

The family suggests that memorial tributes take the form of contributions in her memory to the Millboro Volunteer Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 295, Millboro, VA 24460 or to the Woodland Union Church 347 McClung Dr., Millboro, VA 24460.

The Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge, is handling the arrangements.
