Obituary for Marion Gwilliams Lomasney Marion Gwilliams Lomasney
Nurse Worked With C&O Hospital For 47 Years

Marion Gwilliams Lomasney, age 85, of 2606 Dogwood Ave., Clifton Forge, Virginia, died Monday, July 23, 2012 at her residence.

She was born in Huntington, West Virginia, on November 13, 1926, a daughter of the late Lloyd and Tressie Rowsey Gwilliams.

She was a graduate of the C & O Hospital School of Nursing, and worked for over 47 years as a Registered Nurse at the C & O Hospital, Emmett Memorial Hospital, and Alleghany Regional Hospital before retiring as the Clinical Coordinator. She was also a member of First Christian Church in Clifton Forge, the C & O Retired Nurses Association and the Red Hat Society.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Lester Lomasney in 1974, two brothers, Paul Gwilliams and Russell Gwilliams, and a brother-in-law; Thomas Lomasney.Marion Gwilliams Lomasney.

She is survived by a daughter, Brenda Lomasney Ford, and her husband Larry, of Richmond; two sons, Michael Lomasney and his wife, Angie of Covington; Lawrence Lomasney of Laredo, Texas; a sister, Charlotte Hickman and her husband, Allen of Clifton Forge; six grandchildren, Meredith Ford, Nic Lomasney and his wife, Jaimie; Brandon Lomasney and his wife, Samantha; Zachary Ford, Megan Col—n and her husband, Gabriel; Adrianna Lomasney; five great-grandchildren: Amber Ford, Chandler Ford, Abigail Ford, Kensington Lomasney, and Kaehlen Lomasney; a special friend, Dallas Dobbs, and a number of nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday in the Chapel of Nicely Funeral Home with the Reverend Howard Merrell officiating assisted by the Reverend Doug Williams. Interment will follow in Alleghany Memorial Park in Low Moor. Her six grandchildren will serve as active pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Nicely Funeral Home.

The family suggests that memorial tributes take the form of donations in her memory to the Patient Emergency Fund, C/O Dawn Wilson at Covington Dialysis, 2504 Valley Ridge Road, Covington, VA 24426.
