Betty May Bowyer Bradberry, age 75, of 200 Bradberry Lane, Clifton Forge, Virginia, died Wednesday, August 1, 2012 in Lewis Gale Medical Center, Salem.

She was born January 18, 1937 in Botetourt County, Virginia, to the late Willard and Blanch Dollman Bowyer.

She was a homemaker throughout her life and was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir. She was an avid gardener and loved flowers and her wild birds.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Thomas Bradberry in June of 2002; a brother, Roy Bowyer; and a sister, Minnie Bryant.

She is survived by a step daughter, Karen Bradberry Donovan and husband, John of Winston-Salem, NC; three sisters, Mary Whitmer of Roanoke, Elsie West and husband, Gibby of Clifton Forge, and Annie Sink of Clifton Forge; a brother-in-law, Bobby Bradberry and wife, Edith of Clifton Forge; a sister-in-law, Betty Lou Bradberry of Millboro; a step grandson, John Donovan III and wife, Christine of Winston-Salem, NC; and a number of nieces and nephews, including a special nephew, Donnie Bradberry of Millboro.

A graveside funeral service will be conducted on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. in Bradberry Cemetery in Wilson Creek, Bath County with Reverend John Godfrey officiating. Interment will follow. The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge. The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to the Immanuel Baptist Church Youth Ministry, 2819 Douthat Road, Clifton Forge, VA 24422.
