Obituary for James Cecil Hosey, Sr. James Cecil Hosey, Sr.
Former Covington Resident Was Howard Johnson, Lone Star Cement Employee

James Cecil Hosey, Sr., 82, formerly of Covington, Virginia, died August 3, 2012 at his residence in Roanoke.

He was born March 26, 1930 in Alleghany County, a son of the late Jesse and Ivy Gaines Hosey.

He was formerly employed as a Manager of the Howard Johnson Restaurant in Roanoke and was a former employee of the Lone Star Cement Co.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Hosey was preceded in death by his first wife, Catherine V. Hosey, and also by two brothers and one sister.

Surviving are his wife, Mary Christian Hosey of Roanoke; three sons, James C. Hosey, Jr. of Covington, Ronald Hosey and his wife, Imogene Hosey of Covington, and Charles Hosey and his wife, Grace of Grottoes; four daughters, Carol Adams and Brenda Chambers and her husband Jimmy, all of Roanoke; Michelle Parker and her husband, Leroy of Moneta and Debbie Sane of Rutherfordton, NC; 10 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; one sister, Retha Byer of Covington and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 8, 2012 in the Arritt Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mike Hogan officiating. The interment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. at the Arritt Funeral Home.
