Richard Gerald Hyde, 43, of Lexington, Virginia, died Tuesday, September 4, 2012, at his home.

He was born June 13, 1969, in Troy, N.C., a son of June Bain Haywood, of Troy, N.C. and the late Buil Hyde.

In addition to his mother, surviving are his wife, Yvonne W. Hyde, of Lexington; two daughters, Heather Hyde, of Hyattville, Wyo.; Paige Hyde, of Lexington; two stepsons, Mitchell Joyce and Bryan Joyce, both of Lexington; stepmother, Peggy Hyde, of Morganton, Ga.; three sisters, Connie Deaton, of Troy, N.C.; Patricia Hyde, of Star, N.C.; Audrey Richardson, of Ellerbe, N.C.; one brother, Edward Hyde, of Goldsby, Okla.

A private celebration of his life will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2840 Electric Road, Suite 106A, Roanoke, VA 24018.
