Obituary for Arthur Frederick Martin Arthur Frederick Martin
Lexington Resident, New York Native, Was Electrical Engineer

Arthur Frederick Martin, 82, of Lexington, Virginia, died on Monday, September 17, 2012, at his home.

He was born on November 23, 1929, in New York, son of the late Frederick Martin and Philomena DeSchepper Martin.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mathilde Martin.

Mr. Martin was a member of the St. Patrick's Catholic Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus.

Arthur was an Electrical Engineer for many years.

Surviving are his children, Dr. Electra Martin Wente, of Virginia Beach, Dr. Pierre T. Martin, of Newport News, Gregory A. Martin, of Roanoke, Dr. Raquel Martin Grippi, of Williamsville, N.Y., and Dr. Rebecca Martin Clark, of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; one brother, Richard Martin; two sisters, Dolores Komer, and Eileen Clements, all of New York; and 13 grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 22, 2012, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church with the Father Joseph D'Aurora officiating. Burial will follow at Stonewall Jackson Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m., with prayer service beginning at 5 p.m. on Friday, September 21, 2012, at Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory, Lexington, Va., 540-463-2912.
