Calvin Lewis Mason, 69, of Lexington, Virginia, died Sunday, December 2, 2012, at Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

Born October 10, 1943, in Buena Vista, he was a son of the late Marion "Buster" Mason and Renee McDaniel Mason.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by one brother, Marion Mason; and one sister, Ruby Mason.

Calvin retired from the Buena Vista Police Department after 23 years of service.

Surviving are his wife, Ellen Chittum Mason, of Lexington; three children, Tina Lewonski and husband, Ronald, of Greenville, N.C., Anita Mason, Jessica Mason Whitten and husband, Jeff, all of Lexington; one brother, Donnie Mason; one sister, Louise Mason; two grandchildren, Jacob and Rebecca Lewonski; and special friend, Amanda Dideum.

Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Thursday, December 6, 2012, at Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Chapel with the Rev. W. David Bain and the Rev. Gentry Hinojosa officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, December 5, 2012, at Bolling, Grose, & Lotts Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Buena Vista.
