Homemaker Was Liftime Faith Baptist Church Member

Faye Colleen Gibson, age 88, of 7306 Potts Creek Road, Covington, Virginia, died Tuesday, January 1, 2013 at LewisGale Hospital - Alleghany in Low Moor.

She was born October 23, 1924 in Alleghany County, Virginia, to the late John Brewster and Florence Vance Brewster Dressler.

She was a homemaker throughout her life and a member of Faith Baptist Church.

She volunteered for the League of Older Americans.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ezra Morton Gibson; a brother, Glen Brewster; and two sisters, Opal Rogers and Robbie Hippert.

She is survived by two daughters, Phyllis Hunt of Low Moor, and Barbara Hinkle and husband, Billy of Covington; two sons, Lester Gibson and wife, Tania of Low Moor, and Gene Gibson and wife, Peggy of Millboro; three step daughters, Norma Hepler of Iowa, June Toombs of Covington, and Dorothy Grimes and husband, Dudley of Oklahoma; a step son, Jeff Gibson and wife, Paulette of Oklahoma; three sisters, Pauline Hippert of Covington, Marlene Fisher of Covington and Nancy Malcolm of Low Moor; eight grandchildren, Sandra Eggleston, Timmy Simmons, Davey Hinkle, Lucas Rogers, Wendy Gibson, Julia Gibson, Diane Gibson and Allen Gibson; numerous great grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews; and a special caregiver, Mary Elmore.

In accordance with her wishes, her body has been cremated

. A memorial service will be conducted on Friday at 6:00 p.m. in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with Reverend Billy Price officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday evening following the service at Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge.
