Maxine Clark Kirkpatrick, 78, of Lexington, Virginia, died on Wednesday, January 2, 2013, at Trinity Mission Health & Rehabilitation Center in Rocky Mount, Va.

She was born on August 2, 1934, in Rockbridge County, a daughter of the late Rachel T. Clark.

Surviving are her husband of 45 years, Samuel Luther Kirkpatrick, of Heritage Hall, in Lexington; two daughters, Tracey Pritchett, of Buena Vista, and Sharon Lucas, of Fayetteville, N.C.; one sister, Joann Tyree, of Lexington; and five grandchildren.

Maxine was a member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Monday, January 7, 2013, at Rockbridge Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Canon Wallace Shields and the Rev. Lyndin Sayers officiating.

There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
