Mr. Robert Grey Puffenbarger, age 77, of Hot Springs, Virginia, died Sunday, January 13, 2013.

He was the husband of Shirley Williams Puffenbarger.

Mr. Puffenbarger was born May 6, 1935 in Highland County, Virginia, the son of the late Thornton George Puffenbarger and Bessie Lambert Puffenbarger.

He was a self-employed painting contractor for forty-nine years.

Mr. Puffenbarger loved the outdoors and especially enjoyed hunting and walking.

In addition to his wife of fifty-two years, Shirley Williams Puffenbarger, Mr. Puffenbarger is survived by one daughter, Barbara Shifflett and husband, Ray of Hot Springs; one brother, George Puffenbarger of Low Moor; four brothers-in-law, Wayne Andrews of Covington, Haze Williams, Ray Williams and wife, Nancy, Billy Williams and wife, Ann; one sister-in-law, Lucille Robertson; a number of nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great- great nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Puffenbarger was preceded in death by one brother, Clifford Puffenbarger; three sisters, Ina Puffenbarger, Dolly Andrews, and Mary Andrews; and one brother-in-law, Lyle Andrews.

A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 19, 2013, from the chapel of Loving Funeral Home with Rev. Billy Robertson officiating.
