Obituary for James Calvin (J.C.) Morris James Calvin (J.C.) Morris
Amherst Native Was Buena Vista Resident

James Calvin (J.C.) Morris, age 62, of 521 Roxbury Street, Clifton Forge, Virginia, died Thursday, March 14, 2013 at LewisGale Hospital - Alleghany in Low Moor.

He was born April 9, 1950 in Clifton Forge to the late James Vernon and Virginia Jones Morris.

He was a retired locomotive engineer for the Chesapeake and Ohio Railroad. He was a member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers Local # 38, the Clifton Forge Moose Lodge # 1683, the Clifton Forge Elks Lodge BPOE # 1065, and a former member of the Iron Gate Fire Department.

He loved the Virginia Cavaliers, the New York Yankees and the Indianapolis Colts. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Vernon Morris.

He is survived by a daughter, Trisha Morris Nicely and husband, Bobby of Clifton Forge; two sons, Tommy Morris and wife, Amanda of Covington, and Chris Morris of Greenville, TN; a sister, Patricia Applegate and husband, Apple of Bayhead, NJ; a sister-in-law, Susan Morris of Clifton Forge; nine grandchildren, Dakota Morris, Blake Morris, Camden Burns, Keegan Morris, Kolson Morris, Meagan Nicely, Dalton Nicely, Hunter Morris and Austin Morris; and four nephews and one niece. In keeping with his wishes, his body has been cremated.

A memorial service will be held on Monday evening at 8:00 p.m. in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with Reverend Grover Nicely officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., two hours prior to the service at Nicely Funeral Home, and other times at the residence, 521 Roxbury Street, Clifton Forge.
