Obituary for Charlotte Gwilliams Hickman Charlotte Gwilliams Hickman
Longtime RN Was Clifton Forge Resident

Charlotte Gwilliams Hickman, age 88, of 820 Rose Avenue, Clifton Forge, Virginia, died Friday, April 5, 2013 at LewisGale Hospital - Alleghany, in Low Moor.

She was born August 6, 1924 in Huntington, West Virginia, to the late Lloyd and Tressie Rowsey Gwilliams.

She was a retired registered nurse from Alleghany Regional Hospital in Low Moor and a member of the Chesapeake and Ohio Nurse's Alumni Association.

She was also a member of First Christian Church, where she sang in the choir and belonged to the Rose Tatum Circle.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Lloyd Edward "Eddie" Hickman; a sister, Jean Lomasney; two brothers, "Bud" Gwilliams and Paul Gwilliams; and a grandson, Christopher Hickman.

She is survived by her husband, Allen Hickman of Clifton Forge; a daughter, Bonnie Yopp and her husband, Jimmy of Richmond; a son, David Hickman and his wife, Gayle of Richmond; a granddaughter, Courtney Hickman; a grandson, Jason Yopp; a number of nieces and nephews; and her companion "DeeDee".

A funeral service was held on Monday at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with Reverend Glenn Clements officiating. Interment will follow in Alleghany Memorial Park, Low Moor. Pallbearers were Norman Wilhelm, Gayland Pettrey, Gary Yopp, Bob Turner, Marshall Chamberlain and Sean Davis. The family received friends on Sunday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Nicely Funeral Home. The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to First Christian Church, P.O.
