World War II Navy Veteran Was Lexington Resident

Kathryn France Garrett Guscatt, 90, of Lexington, Virginia, passed away on Sunday, April 14, 2013.

Born on January 20, 1923, in Lexington, she was the daughter of the late Henry Frank Garrett and Amy Florence Lacky Garrett.

Mrs. Guscatt served in the Navy during World War II and retired from Burlington Industries after 43 years of service.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alivin Guscatt; and sisters, Mildred Caruso and Clara Potter.

Surviving Kathryn are her sons, John Henry and wife, Charlene, and Tim Phillip and wife, Sue; grandchildren, Savanna Sue, Kathryn Michelle, Amanda Nicole, and John Henry Jr.; and great grandchildren, David Smith, Harley Patterson, Emily Clark, Abigail Clark, Lillian Guscatt, Adien Flint Guscatt, and Evie Anna Guscatt.

A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. on Thursday, April 18, 2013, at Riverview Cemetery in Ronceverte, West Virginia, with the Rev. David Bain officiating.
