Obituary for Ella Gooch (Dookie) Brisendine Ella Gooch (Dookie) Brisendine
Good News Fellowship Church Member Was Local Homemaker

Mrs. Ella Gooch (Dookie) Brisendine, age 83, of Covington, Virginia, died Wednesday, May 29, 2013, at the Golden Living Center, Clifton Forge.

She was the wife of the late Harry Eugene Brisendine, who preceded her in death in 1999.

Mrs. Brisendine was born April 16, 1930 in Alleghany County, the daughter of the late Leslie Gooch and Ella Harding Gooch.

A resident of this community her entire life, she was a member of Good News Fellowship Church.

Mrs. Brisendine was a homemaker and had been active looking after others and helping nurse them back to health until her health prevented her from doing so. She loved her family and her animals.

Mrs. Brisendine is survived by two sons, Lorne S. Brisendine and wife, Marsha and L.C. Rucker and wife, Sandy; one stepson, Allen Williams, all of Covington; two grandchildren, Kyle Brisendine and Dixie Meadows; four great grandchildren, Kyla Brisendine, Danielle Tucker, Hannah Willis and Russell Willis; one great great grandchild; one sister, Faye Arrington of North Carolina; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Brisendine was preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters.

A funeral service was conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 1, 2013, from the chapel of Loving Funeral Home with Rev. Tommy Sibold officiating. Interment followed in Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Bobby Webb, Solvin Cash, Allen Cook, Jeff Baker, Phillip Rucker, and Charlie Cook. Alternate pallbearer will be Kyle Brisendine.

The family received friends on Friday evening from 7:00 - 8:30 P.M. at the Loving Funera Home.
