Hunter Ira Higgins, 77, of Glasgow, Virginia, died Tuesday, June 4, 2013, at his home.

He was born February 28, 1936, in Rockbridge County, a son of the late Herbert Ira Higgins and Susan Davis Higgins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his two sons, Stanley and William Higgins.

Hunter was a member of the Kerrs Creek Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Dorothy Higgins of Glasgow; four stepchildren, Crystal Shover and husband, Keith; Angela Beverly and spouse Carolyn; C.W. Snead and wife, Leighann; Franklin Riley; eight grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Monday, June 10, 2013, at the Harrison Funeral Home Chapel with the Pastor Sebby Volpe officiating. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Arrangements are being handled by Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory, Lexington.
