Robert Michael (Mike) Lefler, age 58, of 238 Augusta Woods Drive, Staunton, Virginia, and formerly of Covington, Virginia, died Thursday July 11, 2013 in the Augusta Medical Center in Fishersville, Virginia.

He was born January 14, 1955 in Covington, Virginia, to the late Helen Marsh Lefler and Bowen C. Lefler, Jr.

He was a former employee and police officer of the Town of Clifton Forge and a member of the Harrisonburg Moose Lodge.

He enjoyed playing country music and loved hunting and fishing.

He is survived by three daughters, Jennifer Lefler of Clifton Forge, Rebekah Lefler Walthall of Roanoke, and Stephanie Lefler Greene, also of Clifton Forge; three sisters, Mary Snead and husband, Wally, Pam Meadows and husband, Danny, Debbie Lefler and companion, Jim Worley; a brother, Randy Lefler and wife, Lisa; seven grandchildren, Aleisha Lefler, Austin Lefler ,Drew Lefler, Darian Lefler-Coles, Kellen Wathall, Gracie Walthall and Haydee Faidley; also special friends, Michelle Allen and Martha Nicely, and a number of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a special nephew, Kevin Myers.

A funeral service was conducted on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. from the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home with the Reverend Bill Gilliland officiating. Interment followed in the Cedar Hill Cemetery in Covington. Pallbearers were Dave Carter, Chris Myers, Paul Bowen Meadows, Tyler Snead, Barry Balser and Scott Myers.

The family received friends on Saturday evening at Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge.
