Obituary for Edward Seyglinski Edward Seyglinski
Decorated World War II Veteran Was Former Hercules Maintenance Supervisor

Mr. Edward Seyglinski, age 89, of Covington, Virginia, passed away on Friday, September 6, 2013.

He was born on October 13, 1923 in Carteret, NJ, the son of the late Leon and Amelia Dzeidzic Seyglinski.

Ed served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II, in both the European and Pacific theatres including the Battle of the Bulge, and received a Bronze Star.

He was maintenance supervisor for the former Hercules Inc with over twenty-five years of service.

He played softball, umpired and refereed for a variety of sports for over fifty years.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Stanley and Joseph, sisters, Helen and Jennie, son-in-law, Chuck Tate, and beloved dog, Chloe.

He is survived by his wife of sixty-eight years, Lucille Feury Seyglinski; daughter, Brenda Tate of Covington; granddaughter, Jessica, son-in-law, David Powell and great grandson, Garrett, all of Winston-Salem, NC; sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Danny Salvaggio and brother and sister-in-law, Leon and Jenet Seyglinski, all of New Jersey; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Wayne and Louise Feury of White Sulphur Springs, WV, in addition to many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 9, 2013, from the chapel of Loving Funeral Home with Rev. James M. Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Alleghany Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Loving Funeral Home.
