Was Kmart Jewelry Manager For 28 Years

Mrs. Priscilla Layne Blankenship Redman, age 54, of Covington, Virginia, died Monday, September 16, 2013, at LewisGale Hospital-Alleghany, Low Moor, VA.

She was the wife of Steven W. Redman.

Mrs. Redman was born May 9, 1959 in Alleghany County, the daughter of Daisy Wolfe Blankenship and the late Lacey Blankenship.

She was a lifetime resident of this community and a 1977 graduate of Alleghany High School.

Priscilla was employed as a jewelry manager by Kmart for twenty-eight years.

Mrs. Redman was a member of Pinnell Chapel United Methodist Church. She was active in many community affairs including Eagle Wings and the Relay for Life team.

Priscilla, along with her mother, was deeply involved with feeding families going through difficult life events. She was active in counseling and advising others who may be starting with cancer treatments. She was a beacon of hope for many.

Known to her grandchildren, as Grancilla, Priscilla was loved and adored by her husband and family and by all who knew her.

In addition to her mother and husband, Mrs. Redman is survived by one son, Phillip Wayne Redman of Covington; one daughter, Summer Redman Pullin of Clermont, FL; five grandchildren, Jake Redman, Elijah Pullin, Noah Pullin, Isaac Pullin and Chloe Pullin; one brother, Dale Blankenship of Covington; and one sister, Ramona Reed, of Covington.

In addition to her father, Mrs. Redman was preceded in death by one brother, Sherman Blankenship.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 19, 2013, at First Christian Church with Rev. David Brown officiating, assisted by Rev. Bill Gilliland. Interment will follow in Lone Star Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Shawn Wolfe, Donnie Kelly, Adam Harris, Jeremy Cromer, Chris Cromer, Wayland Mayo, Gary Bess, Gary Bowers, and Carl Tingler. Alternate pallbearers will be Wilson Wright and Kenneth Redman.

The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at Loving Funeral Home.
