Retired Charge Attendant Was Homemaker, Avid Boston Red Sox Fan

Clara Inez Harlow Dooley, age 84, of 1015 Richmond Street, Selma, Virginia, died Wednesday, November 6, 2013 at LewisGale Hospital - Alleghany, Low Moor.

She was born September 28, 1929 in Selma to the late Charles Thomas and Vinola Pearl May Harlow.

She was a retired charge attendant for Eastern State Hospital in Williamsburg, and a homemaker.

She was a Boston Red Sox fan and loved her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Marguerite Broughman, Alvis Boyd and Virginia Larman; and brothers, Ernest Harlow, Sr. and James "Happy" Harlow.

She is survived by two daughters, Vicki Dooley of Selma and Karen Greenblatt and husband, Stephen of Clifton Forge; two step children, Nancy Snodgrass of Yorktown and Donald Dooley of Oklahoma City, OK; three brothers, Charles T. Harlow of Selma, Ronald Harlow and wife, Helen of Selma, and Elmer "Ham" Harlow and wife, Mary of Williamsburg; three grandchildren, Elizabeth McCutchen, James McCutchen, Jr. and Joseph Greenblatt; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge, with Reverend Dan Purdom officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery, Clifton Forge.

Pallbearers will be William Boyd, James McCutchen, Sr., James McCutchen, Jr., Allen Harlow, Jack Simpson and Robert Hippert.

The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Nicely Funeral Home.
