Della Sorrells Mayo, 83, of Buena Vista, Virginia, died Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at Stonewall Jackson Hospital.

Born December 24, 1929 in Rockbridge County, a daughter of the late Charlie W. Sorrells and Sophie Wood Sorrells.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Eugene Sorrells and two sisters, Ella Frances Robinson and Gladys Talbert.

Mrs. Mayo was a member of the Irish Creek Pentecostal Holiness Church.

Surviving are her husband, Robert L. "Buck" Mayo; two sons, Lewis Wayne Mayo; Richard Dale Mayo and wife, Amy; one sister, Ethel Sorrells Thorne and husband, Jerry; five grandchildren, four great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Saturday, December 21, 2013 at Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Wayne Dickson and Rev. Donnie Robinette officiating. Burial will follow at Rockbridge Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, December 20, 2013 at Bolling, Grose, & Lotts Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Buena Vista, VA.
