Retired MeadWestvaco Instrument Repairman Dies At Age 72

William Joseph (Bill) Peters, age 72, of 768 Cowpasture River Highway, Millboro, Virginia, died Sunday, January 19, 2014 at LewisGale Hospital - Alleghany, Low Moor.

He was born November 28, 1941 in Clifton Forge, Virginia, to the late Joseph Urban Peters and Katherine White Peters.

He was retired after forty-five years of service at MeadWestvaco as an Instrument repairman.

He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and a former member of the Virginia National Guard.

He enjoyed spending time with his family, woodworking, gardening, farming, and the outdoors.

He is survived by his wife of forty-two years, Annemarie Schuller Peters of Millboro; a daughter, Kellie Liptrap and husband, Bil of Richmond; two sons, Mikael Peters and wife, Kelly, and Jeremy Peters and wife, Jennifer, all of Millboro; a sister, Sarah Schuller of Manassas; a brother, David Peters and wife, Sandra of Millboro; three grandchildren, Baylee Peters, Patrick Liptrap and Emily Liptrap; and six nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday in St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Clifton Forge, with Father Tom Collins officiating.

Interment will follow in Peters Family Cemetery, Bath County. Pallbearers will be Timmy Black, Cecil McCoy, Rick Black, Darrell Bennett, Chris Huffman, Bill Cahoon, Bill Hardbarger, Joe Wood and Tom Porter.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge, and a Christian Wake Service will be recited on Wednesday evening at 6:00 p.m. at Nicely Funeral Home.

The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to Mountain Regional Hospice Volunteers, P. O. Box 637, Clifton Forge, VA 24422.
