Gertrude Deacon Hartless, 91, of Buena Vista, Virginia, went to be with the Lord on Friday, January 24, 2014.

She was born in Rockbridge County on December 14, 1922, the daughter of the late Charles Edward Deacon and Emma Agnor Deacon.

Mrs. Hartless was a member of the Buena Vista Pentecostal Holiness Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kyle Ray Hartless Sr.; and son, Gary Alan Hartless.

Surviving Mrs. Hartless are one daughter, Linda Hartless Wright and husband, Samuel; two sons, Kyle Ray Hartless Jr., and Timmy Hartless and wife, Cynthia; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Also surviving her are two special friends, Bessie Hawes and Emma Gold Moore.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, January 27, 2014, at the Buena Vista Pentecostal Holiness Church with the Rev. W.A. Mill and the Rev. W. David Bain officiating. Interment will follow at Green Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, January 26, 2014, at the church.
