Obituary for Nancy Rumpf Pound Nancy Rumpf Pound
Former Bath County School System Employee Was Central Advent Christian Church Member

Nancy Lee Rumpf Pound, 64, of 509 Court Street Clifton Forge, Virginia, died Sunday, March 9, 2014 at her residence, two days following her birthday.

She was born in Clifton Forge on March 7, 1950, a daughter of the late George St. Clair (Buck) Rumpf and Mary Kathleen Campbell Rumpf.

She was a 1968 graduate of Clifton Forge High School, and a graduate of the Business Department of Dabney S. Lancaster Community College.

She was employed by the former Mizzy Plant in Cliftondale Park and Stillwater Inc., of Goshen.

Nancy retired from the Bath County School System, where she worked as Clerk of the Bath County School Board and then as office secretary of the Bath County High School.

She thoroughly enjoyed and valued her work with students, teachers and personnel of the school system, through which she formed many friendships.

Nancy was a member of the Central Advent Christian Church in Clifton Forge.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Ian Travis Pound, when he was only one year old.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by a daughter, Sharrie Renee Pound Woodzell and husband, Tony of Warm Springs; a son, John Travis Pound and wife, Jennifer, of Richmond; three grandchildren, Cody Woodzell, Leah Pound, and Sophie Pound; a sister, Linda R. Archer and husband, John of Appomattox; several aunts and numerous cousins; her companion of many years, Gene Wagner; and special friends, Linda Criser, Patsy Chestnut, Judy Sams and the father of her children, John Pound and wife, Linda.

A funeral service will be held on Friday at 11:00 a.m. in the Central Advent Christian Church, Clifton Forge with Reverend Louis Dodd, Reverend Gene Peters and the Reverend Derek Irvine officiating.

Interment will follow in Central Advent Christian Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Cody Woodzell, Ray Ryder, Rick Griffith, Greg Vess, Wesley Knick, Steve Campbell, Jacob Angle, Jason Pauley, and Lonnie Altizer.

The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge.
