Obituary for David Eldon (Fuzzy) Overton David Eldon (Fuzzy) Overton
U.S. Army Veteran Was Equiment Operator At Buchanan Quarry

David Eldon (Fuzzy) Overton, age 65, of 625 Rose Avenue, Clifton Forge, Virginia, died Monday, March 17, 2014 at The Golden Living Center.

David was born September 7, 1948 in Clifton Forge to the late Eldon Menzo Overton and Aline Virginia Hostetter Overton.

He served in the United States Army and attended Lone Star Advent Christian Church in his youth.

He was an equipment operator for a rock quarry in Buchanan, enjoyed carving wooden canes, walking staffs, and loved to fish and hunt.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a half brother, Floyd Menzo Overton and a half sister, Lillian Overton Nicely.

He is survived by a son, David "Booter" Overton, Jr.; a sister, Dorothy "Dotty" Carter of Clifton Forge; a half sister, Almeda Overton Reynolds; three grandchildren, including a special grandson, Brandon Overton; and a number of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

There will be no services at this time.

The Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge is in charge of arrangements.

The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to Mountain Regional Hospice, P. O. Box 637, Clifton Forge, VA 24422.
