Obituary for Cynthia Lou Vaness Nicely Cynthia Lou Vaness Nicely
Worked With Medical Records Department At Alleghany Regional Hospital

Cynthia Lou (Cindy) VanNess Nicely, age 54 of 150 Griffith Road, Clifton Forge, Virginia, died Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at LewisGale Hospital - Alleghany in Low Moor.

Cindy was born February 14, 1960 in Clifton Forge to the late Fred Everett and Goldie Nicely VanNess.

She was retired from the medical records department at Alleghany Regional Hospital and was a member of the Iron Gate Community Church and the Clifton Forge Moose Lodge.

She loved cooking and music.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Fred VanNess, Jr. and Tracy VanNess.

She is survived by her husband, Brian Scott Nicely; three sons, Anthony Eggleston of Richmond, Trevor Nicely of Clifton Forge and Tanner Nicely of Clifton Forge; five sisters, Shirley Lewis of Low Moor, Cathy Luckett of Clifton Forge, Becky Deane and husband, Reggie of Low Moor, Rosie VanNess of Clifton Forge and Dolly VanNess of Clifton Forge; two brothers, Benny VanNess and wife, Martha of Glen Wilton, and Tony VanNess and wife, Celia of Clifton Forge; two grandchildren, Qwasia Eggleston and Omarija Rice; her mother-in-law, Kathleen Nicely; sister-in-law, Susan Wilhelm and husband, Keith of Clifton Forge; brother-in-law, Darrin Nicely of Clifton Forge; a number of nieces and nephews; special friends, Patsy Patton of Clifton Forge, Sarah Maydian of Clifton Forge, and Ruben and Beverly Noel; and companions, Shiloh and Timmy.

A funeral service was held on Saturday, May 24, 2014 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with Reverend Edith Snedegar officiating. Entombment followed in the Alleghany Memorial Park Mausoleum, Low Moor. Pallbearers will be Reggie Deane, Jim Nicely, Yancey Humphreys, Trevor Nicely and Kenneth Higgins.

The family received friends on Friday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Nicely Funeral Home and other times at the residence.

The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1905.
