Obituary for Elizabeth (Libby) Meadows Kirts Elizabeth (Libby) Meadows Kirts
Central United Methodist Church Member Was Retired Mizzy, Inc. Purchaser

Elizabeth (Libby) Meadows Kirts, age 87, of 500 Granville Avenue, Clifton Forge, Virginia, died Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at her residence.

Libby was born May 30, 1926 in Hinton, West Virginia, to the late Walter Martin and Eva Lee Terry Meadows.

She was a retired purchaser from Mizzy, Inc.

She was a member of Central United Methodist Church, where she belonged to the Jean Craig Fellowship and the Wesleyan Fellowship Class, and she was a former member of the Anata Shrine Guild.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Emmett Hartley Kirts in April of 2008; two sisters, Lenora DiDario and Margaret Lovett; five brothers, Jack Terry Meadows, Carl E. Meadows, Richard L. Meadows, Earl G. Meadows and Walter Meadows, Jr.; and a great grandchild, Ellie Wilson.

She is survived by two daughters, Linda Lee Kirts Ross and husband, Codie of Short Gap, WV and Pamela Kay Kirts of Staunton; a son, Emmett Hartley "Buddy" Kirts, Jr. and partner, Jerry Schwab of Houston, TX; eight grandchildren, Traci Belcher and husband, Tony, Nikki Sprouse and husband, Mike, Ian "Matt" Glover and wife, Kim, Kelley White and husband, Phillip, Laura Denning and husband, Todd, Christopher "Andy" Glover and wife, Alana, Codie Ross III and wife, Kitty, and Robert Kirts Glover and wife, Alison; twenty-three great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A funeral service was held on Saturday, May 31, 2014 at11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with Reverend Ned Alderman officiating. Interment followed in Mountain View Cemetery, Clifton Forge.

Grandsons and great grandsons served as pallbearers. The family received friends on Friday evening at Nicely Funeral Home and any time at the residence.
