Obituary for Maria Jane Mason Putnam Maria Jane Mason Putnam
Retired Radiology Assistant Was Clifton Forge Baptist Church Member

Maria Jane Mason Putnam, age 83, of The Woodlands Nursing Home, Clifton Forge, Virginia, and formerly of Rose Street, Clifton Forge, died Thursday, June 12, 2014 at The Woodlands.

Jane was born January 15, 1931 in Clifton Forge to the late William M. Mason, Sr. and Edna Patterson Mason.

She was a retired radiology assistant for the former Emmett Memorial Hospital and Alleghany Regional Hospital.

She was a member of the Clifton Forge Baptist Church, enjoyed playing BINGO, and loved being with people.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Langford Putnam; three sisters, Phyllis M. Mays, Evelyn Topping and Marion Ford; two brothers, Leroy Mason and William M. Mason, Jr.; and a great niece, Kim Honts Bolognesi.

She is survived by her daughter, Terry Lee Wilmer and husband, Raymond L. Wilmer II; a grandson, Raymond L. "Ray" Wilmer III; nieces and nephews, Mark Ford and wife, Cathy, Emily Gail Honts and husband, Floyd, Bobby Topping and Sue Ellen Topping; special great nieces and nephew, Mary Katlyn O'Neil, Sarah O'Neil, and Clay Ford; and special friends, JoAnn Honts, Mae Pinkston, Betty Jo Brown, Kathy Dobson, and Jeannie Morgan.

A funeral service will be conducted on Monday, June 16, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with Reverend J. Glenn Linthicum officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery, Clifton Forge.

The family will receive friends on Sunday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Nicely Funeral Home and other times at the home of Terry and Ray Wilmer, 1414 Bryant St, Clifton Forge.

The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to the Clifton Forge Rescue Squad, P. O. Box 419, Clifton Forge, VA 24422 and Mountain Regional Hospice Volunteers, P. O. Box 637, Clifton Forge, VA 24422.
