Obituary for Robert Christopher (Bob) Trani Robert Christopher (Bob) Trani
Lexington Resident Was VFW Post Commander, Collierstown Baptist Church Member

Robert Christopher (Bob) Trani, 63, of Lexington, Virginia, died Friday, July 11, 2014 at the VA Medical Center in Salem.

Born September 10, 1950 in Bronx, New York, he was a son of the late Basilio R. Trani and Rose Agnone Trani.

Mr. Trani had twenty years of military service with the United States Navy, twice commander of VFW post 1499, and was a member of Collierstown Baptist Church.

Bob coordinated and hosted the Memorial Day/Veterans day ceremony in downtown Lexington, and volunteered with Lime Kiln Theater, Effinger Fire Dept. and Fridays Alive.

He loved to hunt, fish, paint, and was proud to be an Italian-American Yankees fan.

Surviving are his wife, Valerie Lee Trani of Lexington; his daughters, Robin Rose Bell, of Franklin, and Julianna Trani of Chesapeake; and his brothers, Christopher Trani, of Bronx N.Y., Albert Trani, of Yonkers N.Y.; and two grandchildren, Cassandra Rose Bell, and Tristan Trani.

A funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday July 15, 2014 at Harrison Funeral Chapel with Pastor Jesse Krystowiak officiating. Burial will follow with military honors 2 p.m. Thursday July 17, 2014 at Culpeper National Cemetery.

The family received friends on Monday July 14, 2014 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Bob's memory to The Care Box Project, P. O. Box 556 Lexington, VA 24450, or to The American Cancer Society 2840 Electric Road, Suite 106A, Roanoke, VA 24018.
