Obituary for Roy North (Buck) Burks, Jr. Roy North (Buck) Burks, Jr.
Retired CSX Clerk Was Member Of Expressions Gospel Group

Roy North (Buck) Burks, Jr., 73, of 104 Walton Church Lane, Clifton Forge, Virginia, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 7, 2014.

He was born July 22, 1941 in Lynchburg, a son of the late Roy N. Burks, Sr. and Pearl Robertson Burks.

Mr. Burks retired from CSX in 2003 as a clerk after 42 years of service. He enjoyed singing with the gospel group, The Expressions, for 24 years and also was a member of The Servants for 15 years.

Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Brenda Campbell Burks of Clifton Forge; one daughter, Renae Grimes and Michael Grimes of Clifton Forge; three brothers, Leonard Watts Burks of Blue Ridge; Jerry Burks and his wife, Dee of Fincastle and Bruce Burks and his wife, Andi of Vemon, VT; one sister, Dreama Jackling of Norfolk; a sisterŠin-law, Angie Cash and her husband, Steve of Roanoke, and several nieces and nephews, including great grand nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Monday, August 11, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. in the Arritt Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bruce Burks officiating.

The interment will be made in the Campbell Family Cemetery in Bath County.

The family will receive their friends Sunday afternoon from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. at the Arritt Funeral Home, Covington, Virginia.
