Obituary for Leslie Blair Dodd Leslie Blair Dodd
U. S. Navy Veteran Was Retired Construction Worker

Leslie Blair Dodd, age 64, of 11231 Douthat Road, Millboro, Virginia, passed away Saturday, August 8, 2014 at LewisGale Hospital - Alleghany, Low Moor.

He was born April 20, 1950 in Clifton Forge, to Mary A. Montgomery Dodd and the late Everett Cecil Dodd.

He served in the United States Navy and was a retired, self-employed construction worker.

He loved his grandchildren.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a step daughter, Emily Humphrys and a brother, Cecil "Woody" Dodd.

He is survived by his wife, Lynn Frances Hyler Dodd of Millboro; his mother, Mary A. Dodd of Clifton Forge; two daughters, Mary Taylor of Elk Grove, CA and Angel Oliver of Clifton Forge; step children, Max Leo Humphrys, Jr., April Ann Humphrys, and Shawn Wilson Humphrys; three sisters, Deborah Thurston and husband, Danny, Nancy Gilbert and husband, Steve of Clifton Forge, and Donna Hardy and husband, John of Jacksonville, FL; grandchildren, Derek Taylor, Kayla Taylor and Hayley Oliver; twelve step grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In keeping with his wishes, his body has been cremated.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2014 at 4:00 p.m. in the Lighthouse Apostolic Church, Clifton Forge with Reverend Gordon Hammond officiating.

Military rites will be conducted by members of the Burnside-Carpenter VFW Post 4299.

The Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge, is in charge of arrangements.
