Mr. Ronald Eugene Biggs, age 76, of Covington, Virginia, died Friday, August 29, 2014, at the Brian Center Nursing Care Ð Alleghany, Low Moor, VA.

He was the husband of Ruby McCoy Biggs.

Mr. Biggs was born September 7, 1937 in Wikel, WV, the son of the late Lee Poindexter Biggs and Gladys Porterfield Biggs.

A member of this community since 1942, he had been employed as a lab tech by the former Hercules, Inc. before working as a painter for Bill Potter and for the Greenbrier.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

In addition to his wife of fifty-four years, Mr. Biggs is survived by one daughter, Denise Biggs of Covington; three brothers, Lee Biggs, Jr., Jimmy Biggs and Timmy Biggs; three sisters, Virginia B. Burkholder, Bonnie B. Wildman and Brenda B. Dolin; a brother-in-law, Danny McCoy; a sister-in-law, Pat Kearney; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Biggs was preceded in death by one daughter, Christy Biggs Johnson; a brother, Jerry Wayne Biggs; and two sisters, Lillian Fridley and Ruth Huff Martin.

A funeral service will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, September 4, 2014, from the chapel of Loving Funeral Home with Rev. Jeff Riley officiating.

The family will receive their friends Thursday evening following the service.

The family suggests that memorial tributes be made to the Alleghany Humane Society, P. O. Box 60, Low Moor, VA 24457.
