Obituary for Dorothy Crouch (Dot) Stancil Dorothy Crouch (Dot) Stancil
Shrine Club Member Was Former Shenandoah Nursing Home Nurse

Dorothy Crouch (Dot) Stancil, 84, of 101 Mountaineer View Drive, Valley Ridge, Covington, Virginia, died Friday, October 31, 2014 at the Radford Health and Rehab Center in Radford.

She was born in Botetourt County on November 9, 1929, a daughter of the late George Letcher and Ila Mae Lloyd Crouch.

Dot was a retired registered nurse at the former Shenandoah Manor nursing home in Clifton Forge.

She was a member of the Anata Shrine Guild of the Clifton Forge Shrine Club.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Lee Hauey and by her husband, Henry Rudolph "Doc" Stancil, who preceded her in death in 1993.

She is survived bytwo sons and daughter-in-law, Gary R. Stancil and wife, Chandie of Christiansburg and Stephen J. Stancil of Covington; five grandchildren, Eric Stancil and wife, Misty, Trina Finley and husband, Ricky, A.J. Stancil and wife, Becky, Chad Stancil and Nathan Stancil; seven great grandchildren; a niece, Petey Reynolds; and two special friends, Leolyn Conner and Angie Hinebaugh.

A funeral Service will be conducted Tuesday morning at 11 a.m. from the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home with the Reverend Bill Gilliland officiating.Interment will follow in Alleghany Memorial Park in Low Moor.

Active pallbearers will be Mrs. Stancil's grandsons and other friends and family attending the service. The family will receive friends Tuesday morning from 10 a.m. until time of service at Nicely Funeral Home.

The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to the Shriner's Crippled Children Hospital, c/o Jim Eller, 1201 Crestwood Ave., Clifton Forge, Virginia 24422.
