Steven (Lonnie) Robinson, age 64, of 2806 Valley Ridge Road, Covington, Virginia, died Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at the Wexner Medical Center of Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio.

He was born October 20, 1950 in Alleghany County, Virginia, to the late Therman Marion and Ella Frances Sorrells Robinson.

He was a retired deputy for the Alleghany County Sheriff's Office with thirty-one years of service, and also worked for the Virginia State Police.

He is survived by his wife, Vanessa Hoke Robinson of Covington; a son, Steven L. Robinson II of Covington; a daughter, Laura R. Wettstaedt and husband, Nick of Pickerington, OH; two sisters, Judy Hall of Salem, and Sheila Via and husband, J. R. of Salem; and a granddaughter, Sidney Robinson.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, November 9, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with Reverend Johnnie Mize officiating.

Honors will be provided by the Honor Guard of the Alleghany County Sheriff's Office, commanded by Sheriff Kevin W. Hall. Cremation will follow.

The family will receive friends on Sunday afternoon from 12:00 p.m. until time of service at Nicely Funeral Home.
