Homemaker Was Clifton Forge Native

Nadine Gray Barger VanBuren, age 82, of 1103 Staunton Street, Selma, Virginia, died Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at her residence.

She was born March 5, 1932 in Clifton Forge to the late William and Lula Clark Barger.

She was a homemaker.

She was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church and also attended First Assembly of God Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Johnnie W. VanBuren, Jr.; three brothers; three sisters; and a great grandson, Abram Shanaberger.

She is survived by her husband, Johnnie William VanBuren, Sr. of Selma; three sons, Stephen Wayne VanBuren and wife, Lory of Caldwell, WV, Stewart Lee VanBuren of Selma, and Rickey VanBuren and wife, Lois of Fairbank, PA; a daughter-in-law, Debbie VanBuren of Selma; a sister, Libby Clenden of Roanoke; ten grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.

In keeping with her wishes, her body has been cremated.

There will be no services at this time.

The Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge is in charge of arrangements. The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to St Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1905, or to the Wounded Warrior Project, P. O. Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas 66675.
