Rockbridge County Native Was Retired Salesperson For Leggett, Rooklins

Stella Phillips Campbell, age 96, of 508 Commercial Avenue, Clifton Forge, Virginia, died Monday, January 12, 2015 at The Woodlands Health and Rehabilitation Center, in Clifton Forge.

She was born January 6, 1919 in Rockbridge County, Virginia, to the late Charles Sylvester and Molly Hostetter Phillips.

She was a retired salesperson for Leggetts Department Store and Rooklins of Covington.

She was a member of the Clifton Forge Presbyterian Church and a founder and former member of the Clifton Forge Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Norval Lee Campbell; a sister, Alice P. Burger; and a brother, William Sylvester Phillips.

She is survived by her son, Norval Sylvester "Butch" Campbell, Jr. and his wife, Susan of Clifton Forge; two grandchildren, Tabitha Dawn Morris and Daniel Arlan Campbell; a great grandchild; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 15, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with Reverend Paul Brokaw officiating.

Interment will follow in Alleghany Memorial Park, Low Moor.

Pallbearers will be selected from friends and family attending the service. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Nicely Funeral Home.
