Anna Csokay Cooke, 83, of Covington, Virginia, died Saturday, January 31, 2015. at Lewis Gale Medical Center in Salem.

She was born June 12, 1931 in Vienna, Austria, a daughter of the late Joahann and Sophie Harring Csokay.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Elwood Nicely; her second husband, Eldridge Cooke; two sons, Roger Nicely and Randolph Nicely; one brother, Emmerich Csokay and one sister, Mitzi Muhm.

Mrs. Cooke retired in 1992 from Jackson River Internists as a medical assistant.

She was a member of Mount Carmel United Methodist Church, the Friendship Circle of the Church, and the Rainbow Garden Club.

Surviving are two daughters, Glory Nicely Knick and husband, Dean of Lexington, and Nancy Nicely Cutlip of Bluefield, WV; 12 grandchildren; Wendy Knick Dalton and husband, Gordon; Emily Knick Gilbert and husband, Chad; Patti Nicely of Roanoke; Brittany Nicely Jones and husband, Daniel of Roanoke; Daniel Nicely and wife, Sarah of Texas; Sarah Nicely Lankau and husband, Tim of Texas; Mary Nicely of Texas; Bethany Nicely Remlinger and husband, Paul of Texas; Joshua Lavender and wife, Tara of Bluefield, WV; Candice Harris of Bluefield, VA; David Tomes and wife, Courtney of Bluefield, WV; Robert Cutlip and wife, Cassaundra of Bluefield WV; 12 great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the Arritt Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Doug Hollenbeck officiating.

The interment will follow in Alleghany Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be David Tomes, Bobby Cutlip, Paul Dressler, Jackie Keyser, Roger Amos, James Frame, Gene Crowder and Jr. McCoy.

Honorary pallbearers will be Gordon Dalton and Chad Gilbert.

The visitation will be held Tuesday evening, February 3, 2015 from 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. at the Arritt Funeral Home.

The family suggests that memorial donations in Mrs. Cooke's name may be made to Mount Carmel United Church, 1200 N. Alleghany Ave., Covington, VA 24426.
