Obituary for Ethel Mary Alderman Hall Ethel Mary Alderman Hall
U. S. Army Veteran Was Former Clifton Forge Resident

Ethel Mary Alderman Hall, 95, of Memory Lane, Carriage Hill, Fredericksburg, Virginia, and formerly of Crestwood Avenue, Clifton Forge, died early Monday morning, February 2, 2015 at Mary Washington Hospital in Fredericksburg.

She was born in Atlanta, Georgia on June 20, 1919, a daughter of the late Brayton A. Alderman and Ethel Sefriet Alderman.

She served in the United States Army from March of 1943 to December of 1945 during World War II in the Pacific Theatre of Operations.

Mrs. Hall served as a Physical Therapist in the nursing corps of the Philippines and New Guinea.

She was a homemaker throughout her life and was an active member of the Central United Methodist Church of Clifton Forge.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Fremont Baker Hall in February of 2005 and by her sister, Betty Vinson.

She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, John Michael Hall and Shirley of Fredericksburg; a grandson, Tracy Hall and wife, Sheri of Marriottsville, Maryland; two step grandchildren, Jason and Justin Story of Fredericksburg, Virginia; 2 great grandchildren; and 3 step great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be conducted Friday morning at 11:00 a.m. from the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with the Rev. W. Pembroke Hall officiating. Interment will follow in the Mountain View Cemetery, Clifton Forge.

Graveside Military Rites will be conducted by the Burnside-Carpenter Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4299 of Clifton Forge.

Active pallbearers will be selected from friends and family attending the service. The family will receive friends on Friday morning from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at Nicely Funeral Home.
