Obituary for Ronald Lee (Freck) Mays Ronald Lee (Freck) Mays
Retired CSX Transportation Engineer Was Army Reserve Veteran, Lone Star Advent Christian Church Member

Ronald Lee (Freck) Mays, age 76, of 705 Chestnut Street, Clifton Forge, Virginia, also of Avon Park, Florida, died Monday, February 16, 2015 in Sebring, Florida.

He was born September 5, 1938 in Clifton Forge to the late Henry and Melvina Reynolds Mays.

He was a retired engineer for CSX Transportation and Amtrak, and had served in the United States Army Reserve.

He was a member of Lone Star Advent Christian Church, but also attended Community Bible Church in Avon Park, FL.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by first wife, Helen Bocook Mays, in July of 1998.

He is survived by his wife, Wilda Miles Mays of Clifton Forge; a daughter, Deborah Lee Berberette and husband, Billy of Clifton Forge; eight step children, Wilda Jean Ernest of Langhorn, PA, Judy Leigh Eroh of Covington, Starla Kay Schwartz of PA, Christine Elizabeth Wolfe of Clifton Forge, Lawrence Napoleon Andrews of PA, Lathan Nolan Andrews of Bristol, PA, Tamara Elaine Simmons of Millboro, and Tara Lee Schiavone of South Hampton, PA; four sisters, Doris Curtis of Clifton Forge, Imogene Turner of Selma, Gathlene Blankenship of Clifton Forge, and Debbie Nicely of Norfolk; three brothers, Bill Mays of Millboro, Lawrence Mays of Beckley, WV, and Gary Mays of Clifton Forge; a grandson, Jeremy O. Berberette; twenty-three step grandchildren; a host of great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with Reverend Doug Moore and Reverend Roger Bush officiating. Interment will follow in Central Advent Christian Cemetery, Clifton Forge.

The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Nicely Funeral Home.
