Obituary for Lena Mae Brown Lena Mae Brown
Clifton Forge Native Was "Godly Lady"

Lena Mae Brown, age 68, of California, and formerly of Clifton Forge, Virginia, went home Tuesday, March 17, 2015.

Lena was born on October 10, 1946 in Clifton Forge to the late John H. Brown, Jr. and Madge Brown.

She grew up in Clifton Forge and lived with her grandparents, John H. Brown, Sr. and Rosa Brown.

She completed twelve years of schooling and moved to California in 1968. She worked with Regional Center in San Bernadino, California, for a great number of years and was active in the Regional Center Benefits for the Community.

Lena was a godly lady.

She is survived by three sisters, Sylvia Turner of Camp Springs, MD, Jean Jones and husband, Earl of Deridder, LA, and Henrietta Brown of Garden Grove, CA; a brother, John H. Brown III of Garden Grove, CA; an uncle, William Brown of Clifton Forge; ten nieces, Rhonda Turner, Dianne Turner, Michelle Brown, Eboni Brown, Olive Brown, Angela Jones, LeJeinez Cooper, Lauren Turner, Ashley Turner and Chandler Turner; two nephews, William Turner and wife, Lorie of Indianapolis, IN and Reginald White of Houston, TX; and a host of cousins and numerous relatives and friends in Clifton Forge, VA and California.

The Brown family would like to thank all involved in caring for Lena. A joyful celebration of Lena's life will be held on Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with Reverend Roslyn Thomas officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery, Clifton Forge.

Pallbearers will be Alfred Dearing, Sr., William Allen, Gregory Key and Roy E. Birch.

The Nicely Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
