Obituary for William Howard (Bill) Hepler William Howard (Bill) Hepler
Retired Construction Foreman Was U. S. Army Korean War Veteran

William Howard (Bill) Hepler, 87, of Paint Bank, Virginia, died Sunday, April 12, 2015 at the Veterans Medical Center in Salem.

Mr. Hepler was born April 20, 1927 in Alleghany County, a son of the late Harvey Lee and Mary Reynolds Hepler.

In addition to his parents he was preceded by his wife, Nora Darlene Crowder Helper in 1996; a daughter, Frances Hepler in 2007 and also by six brothers and three sisters.

He served his country with the United States Army during the Korean War.

Mr. Hepler retired as a foreman with the Robertson Construction Company in Roanoke.

Surviving are three daughters, Shirley Dixon and her husband, Roger of Union, WV; Nancy Kessler and her husband, Perry Salisbury, NC and Jo Ann Anderson of FL; one son, Donald Helper of Roanoke; four grandchildren; four great grandchildren; one brother, Charles Hepler of Covington, and a number of nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. in the Arritt Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Rev. Ted Fortenberry officiating.

The interment will follow in Lone Star Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Roger Pickett, Gail Meadows, Bernie Arthur, Kyle Largen and Travis Sizemore. Roger Dixon and Perry Kessler will service as alternate pallbearers.

The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the Arritt Funeral Home, Covington, Virginia.
