100 Year-Old Was Goshen Native, Lifetime Member Of Mount Carmel United Methodist Church

Sarah Louise Forbes Foster, 100, of the Woodlands Health and Rehab Center in Clifton Forge, Virginia, died there Sunday, May 24, 2015.

Mrs. Foster was born September 2, 1914, at Goshen in Rockbridge County, a daughter of the late Henry S. and Frankie Curry Foster.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her Husband, John F. Foster, Sr. in 1993, and also by two sisters and three brothers.

She was a loving and devoted homemaker and a lifetime member of the Mount Carmel United Methodist Church. She was very proud of achieving her status as a 50 year member of the Martha Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star.

Surviving are her son, John F. Foster, Jr. and his wife, Katharine, of Staunton; three grandchildren, Kay L. Foster of Richmond, Elizabeth L. Money of Frisco, TX, and John F. Foster, III, of Lewisburg, WV; five great grandchildren, Gene R. Bryson, USN, Virginia Beach, Ashley L. Money and Troy Money, both of Frisco, TX, Georgia Foster and John F. Foster, IV, both of Lewisburg, WV; several nieces and nephews including Becky Nichols, Leroy Forbes, Jr., David Forbes, Robin Wolf, Curtis Wolf, Lee Bridget Vasta, and a very special nephew, Jim "Jimmy" Forbes.

The funeral service will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. at the graveside in Cedar Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Virgil Woodie officiating.

The family will receive their from 1:00 p.m. until service time at Arritt Funeral Home.
