Betty Leslie Dudley, 78, of Lexington, Virginia, went to be with the Lord Friday, May 29, 2015, at Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

Born December 10, 1936, in Rockbridge County a daughter of the late Horace Leslie and Virginia Ruley Leslie.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fred William Dudley; one daughter, Virginia "Ginny Lee" Dudley Ayres; and one brother, Robert Lee Leslie.

Mrs. Dudley was a member of the Collierstown Baptist Church.

Surviving are one son, Fred Dudley and wife, Sarah; one brother, Jimmy Leslie, all of Lexington; eight grandchildren, April Ayres Ruley, Holley Ayres Nicely, Sarah Ayres, Melvin "Mac" Ayres, Gilmore "Gil" Ayres, Jessica Dudley Selmer, Cassandra Dudley, and William Dudley; four great-grandchildren, Layne Ruley, Lance Ruley, Layla Ruley and Oscar Selmer.

A funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday, June 4, 2015, at Collierstown Baptist Church with the Rev. Jesse Krystowiak officiating. Entombment will follow in the Rockbridge Memorial Garden Mausoleum.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday June 3, 2015, at Harrison Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Betty's memory to Effinger Fire Department, 2824 Collierstown Road, Lexington, VA 24450.
