Dale Curtis (Curt) Fredin, Jr., 70, of Lexington, Virginia, died at Augusta Health on Saturday, June 20, 2015.

Curt was born in Des Moines, Iowa, and grew up in Littleton, Colorado.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dale C. and Florence E. Fredin; and a nephew, Jeffery L. Cox.

He is survived by William L. "Skip" Hess, III, his life partner of 30 years; a sister, Judith K. Cox (Buster Strassburger) of Middletown, Ohio; a brother, J. David Moore, of Covington, Va.; nieces, Jennifer Hester and Julie Everett (Chad), two great nephews and one great niece, of Lebanon, Ohio.

Curt was a member of the Lexington Presbyterian Church, where he spent many days cooking for Thantastic Thursdays and Sunday Brunches. He was the secretary and Foundation Chair of the Sam Houston Ruritan Club.

Burial will be private.

A celebration of Curt's life will be held at the Lexington Presbyterian Church at a later date. Donations may be made to the Lexington SPCA, Lexington Presbyterian Church, Hospice, or other organizations of choice.
