Melvin Lee Broughman, age 55, of 800 W. Ridgeway Street, Ridgevue Apt 511, Clifton Forge, Virginia, died Monday, July 6, 2015 at his residence.

He was born April 14, 1960 in Clifton Forge, Virginia, to the late Lacy Nelson Broughman and Atley Gray Thurston Broughman.

He was a former equipment operator for C. C. Coffey Construction.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and loved being with his family and friends.

In addition to his parents, Melvin was preceded in death by two sisters, Susan Virginia Broughman Yopp and Melissa Broughman.

He is survived by two brothers, Lacy Nelson Broughman III and wife, Sarah, and George Alexander Broughman and wife, Kathy, all of Clifton Forge; four nieces and nephews, Afton Nicely, Justin Broughman, Lauren Broughman, and Lacy Broughman IV; a great nephew, Tanner; a great niece, Mackenzie; and special friend, Donna Marie Tucker.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 10, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. in Living Stones Ministries Church, Clifton Forge, to be followed by a graveside funeral service at 3:00 p.m. in Mountain View Cemetery, Clifton Forge, both officiated by Pastor Mike Rollins and Mr. George Broughman.

Interment will take place in Mountain View Cemetery. There will be no visitation.

The Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge is in charge of arrangements.
