Cole's Amusement Shows Mechanic Also Worked With Kroger

Augustine (Dee) Ezril Penn III, age 43, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at LewisGale Medical Center in Salem, VA.

He was the husband of Pamela Diane Penn.

Mr. Penn was born January 2, 1972 in Clifton Forge, Virginia, a son of Augustine Ezril Penn Jr. and Ellen Christine Jackson Penn.

He was a devoted Vikings fan, loved music, grilling out, and enjoyed spending time with his close friend, Uncle Pierson Ross.

Mr. Penn was a lifetime resident of this community and was a mechanic for Cole's Amusement Shows and had been a former employee of Kroger.

In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Penn is survived by his son, Jacob Penn, and daughter, Amber Penn; sister, Christy Hale and husband, Charles of Roanoke, VA; two uncles, Lynwood Salaam and wife, Delores of Mitchellville, MD, and Elder Randall Jackson and wife, Carolyn of Clifton Forge, VA; great aunt, Dorothy P. Scott of Huntington, WV; close friend, Uncle Pierson Ross; and several cousins and friends.

Mr. Penn was preceded in death by his daughter, Selena Penn; maternal grandparents, Harry and Ella Mae Jackson, and paternal grandparents, Augustine and Evelyn Penn.

A funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, July 25, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at the Gospel Tabernacle Church in Covington on Alleghany Avenue with Elder Gregory Moore officiating. Active pallbearers and flower bearers will be cousins and friends.

The family will receive friends at Gospel Tabernacle one hour prior to the funeral service and at other times at the residence of Augustine and Ellen Penn at 325 E. Cherry St., Covington VA.

The family would especially like to thank the staff of the Woodlands Health & Rehab of Clifton Forge and the LewisGale Medical Center third floor and ICU staff.
