Obituary for William Herman Sorrell William Herman Sorrell
Retired Adams Construction Company Employee Was Clifton Forge Resident

William Herman Sorrell, age 67, of 712 Alleghany Street, Clifton Forge, Virginia, and formerly of Gala, died Sunday, August 9, 2015 at LewisGale Hospital - Alleghany in Low Moor.

He was born April 4, 1948 in Clifton Forge to the late Herman Milton and Willie Mae Newcomb Sorrell.

He was a retired construction worker for Adams Construction and was a self-employed sitter for people.

He was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles Sorrell and James Sorrell, and a sister, Helen Riley.

He is survived by a sister, Mary Tinsley and husband, Roger of Low Moor; and a brother, Linwood M. Sorrell of Low Moor; and a niece and nephew.

In keeping with his wishes, his body has been cremated.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, August 13, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge, with Pastor Alfred Dearing officiating.

There will be no visitation. The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to Memorial and Honor Program-F, St Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1905.
