Rockbridge Baths Resident Was Retired State Trooper

Calvin Homer Coleman, 87, of Rockbridge Baths, Virginia, died Friday, September 4, 2015 at his home.

Born May 20, 1928 in Bedford, he was a son of the late Samuel Willie Coleman and Cornelia Lillian Hancock.

Mr. Coleman was a member of the Bethesda Presbyterian Church, Brownsburg Ruritan Club, and retired as a Master Trooper from the Virginia State Police after thirty-two years.

Surviving are his wife of sixty four years, Deane Bowyer Coleman of Rockbridge Baths; five children, Paul Coleman and wife, Pam of Waynesboro, Joy Coleman Doss and husband, James of Lexington, Sam P. Coleman and wife, Donna of Chesapeake, Bill S. Coleman of Christiansburg, Jonathan D. Coleman and wife, Laurie of Katy, Texas; one sister, Jeannie C. Stallard of Lynchburg; eight grandchildren, Erin, Sarah, Zachary, Calvin, Jack, Jonathan, Audrey, and Ashley.

A funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Thursday, September 10, 2015 at Harrison Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Bethesda Presbyterian Church. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
