Roger Lee Stanley, 69, of 235 E. Mallow Road, Covington, Virginia died Sunday
September 13, 2015 at Lewis Gale Salem Medical Center.
He was born December 17,
1945 in Marlinton, West Virginia, the son of the late Durard R. and Neva McMillion Bryant.
Mr. Stanley was a retired pipe fitter for MeadWestvaco.
He also served in the
Army National Guard, and was an avid car enthusiast and golfer.
Surviving are his
wife of 24 years, Anne Reyns Stanley of Covington, a son, Ryan Lee Stanley of
Canyon City, Colorado, and a sister, Vera Martin; a number of nieces and nephews,
two great nieces, and several very dear friends.
In keeping with his wishes, his
body has been cremated.
The memorial service will be Thursday September 17, 2015
at 5:30 p.m. in the Chapel of Arritt Funeral Home with the Pastor Russell Urban
officiating.
The family will receive their friends immediately following the
service. The family has asked that memorial contributions be made in Mr.
Stanley's name to the Salvation Army, P. O. Box 877, Covington, VA 24426 or the
Alleghany County Humane Society, P. O. Box 60, Low Moor, VA 24457.
