Obituary for Marie Newcomb Dressler Marie Newcomb Dressler
Former Jane Colby Seamstress Was Church Of God Of Prophecy Member

Mrs. Marie Newcomb Dressler, age 81, of Covington, Virginia, died Saturday, September 19, 2015, at her residence.

She was the wife of the late Robert Edward Dressler who preceded her in death in 1987.

Mrs. Dressler was born May 19, 1934 in Covington, the daughter of the late John William Newcomb and Beaula May Reed Newcomb.

A lifetime member of this community, she was employed as a seamstress by the former Jane Colby Company in Clifton Forge.

She was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy.

Mrs. Dressler is survived by three sons, Edward "Poncho" Dressler and wife, Judy of Covington, Danny Ray Dressler and wife, Pamela of Stuarts Draft, Richard "Ricky" Dressler and wife, Cheryl of Covington; four daughters, Carolyn D. Ward and husband, Dave of Daleville, Debbie D. Biggs and husband, Ronnie of Eagle Rock, Missy Dressler of Covington, and Tammy D. Law and husband, Richard of Covington; eleven grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; one brother, Bobbie Wayne Newcomb and wife, Ellen of Covington.

In addition to her parents, John William and Beaula May Reed Newcomb, and her husband, Robert Edward Dressler, Mrs. Dressler was preceded in death by a sister, Thelma Newcomb Kelly.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 23, 2015, from the chapel of Loving Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Russell officiating. Interment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Ricky Dressler, Edward "Poncho" Dressler, Jared Campbell, Nicholas Dressler, Ronnie Biggs and Danny Dressler. Alternate pallbearers will be Gary Curry and Buddy Reed. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. at Loving Funeral Home.
