Alice Joanna Gordon Austin, 87, born November 3, 1927 in Covington, Virginia, to the late Earnest and Texie Pearl Eggleston Gordon, passed away Wednesday, October 21, 2015 in Poquoson, Virginia.

Alice was a homemaker who enjoyed attending Tabernacle United Methodist Church in Poquoson and was member of many of the church groups.

She liked traveling - Hawaii her favorite trip; and enjoyed bingo, classic movies, reading mystery and spy thrillers and magazines.

Alice was preceded in death by her husband of fifty years, Harvey Austin Jr., and three brothers, Edward, Haskell, and Earl.

She is survived by her son, Harvey W. Austin III of Cocoa, FL, and nephews, Gary, Wayne, and Ron Gordon.

The family will receive friends at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 25, 2015 in the chapel of Loving Funeral Home, Covington, followed by a procession to Cedar Hill Cemetery in Covington for a graveside service at 3:00 p.m..
